Mr. Ovrutsky has won numerous prizes including the First Prizes in the Pablo Sarasate International Violin Competition in Pamplona, Spain, Liana Issakadze International Violin Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, Unisa International Violin Competition in Pretoria, South Africa, Johansen International Competition in Washington, DC, and also is laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition and The Queen Elisabeth International Competition. Through his career Mr. Ovrutsky has performed with major orchestras around the world, including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Vlaams Radio Orchestra, Pablo Sarasate Orchestra in Spain, St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Mariinsky Orchestra in Russia, Patra National Symphony in Greece, and Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra in Yokohama, Japan. He performed in major concert venues such as Palace de Beux Arts in Brusselles, Philadelphia Music Academy, St. Petersgburg Philharmonic, Moscow Concervatory Hall and Tchaikovsky Hall, Kronberg Festival, and also is a stipendiat of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation. Among conductors with whom Mr. Ovrutsky has worked are Valery Gergiev, Luis Biava, Saulius Sondeckis, Georges Octors, Gilbert Varga, Bernhard Gueller, Jose Luis Garcia Asensio, Jerzy Semkow, Max Bragado Darman, Algirdas Paulavitchus, Alvaro Albiach Fernandez, Norichika Limori, and others. Mr. Ovrutsky’s teachers include Zoya Makhtina at the Moscow Concervatory School for Gifted, Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School, Yumi Scott at the Curtis Institute, and Zakhar Bron at the Hochschule für Musik in Köln, Germany.
